MeehanLaw, LLC has been a constant and evolving law firm, prominent in Fairfield County, and throughout Connecticut for over 56 years. Founded in 1961, by Richard T. Dick was a dean of the criminal defense bar. He was a master trial lawyer. His street fighter upbringing was counterbalanced with an honorable and compassionate approach to the practice of law. A master cross examiner, he could gently lead a witness “down the primrose path” as he used to say, before slamming the garden gate! He was known as the iron fist in the velvet glove. His cases, trial verdicts and appellate decisions are still looked upon as some of the greatest work by any Connecticut criminal defense lawyer in the history of Connecticut jurisprudence. To this day many senior members of the bar, and judiciary, often remark about the great man and lawyer, Dick Meehan, Sr. was.
